Wind, open lots and debris from elsewhere
Unlike the heavily wooded sectors, many Masson-Angers properties have no tree directly over the roof. That doesn't mean the gutters stay clean: wind carries poplar leaves, twigs and field dust, which settle in roof valleys and at the downspout openings.
The bungalows and single-storey homes here often have long, low gutter runs with very little slope. Any build-up of sediment creates a spot where water sits instead of moving.
